1970 Ferrari 512 S Modulo Pininfarina Coupe
Monterey’s ‘car week’ is something quite other-worldly. It’s packed with a variety of motoring events all based in Northern California’s most exclusive district, drawing together car enthusiasts, collectors, buyers and, well, cars.
Loads of them. The week dovetails with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, hosted on the 18th fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Links. Yup, a car party on a golf course, with the ocean – and sunshine – as a backdrop. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday.
Along with some of the most extraordinary motor cars to have ever been built throughout history, the concours show also hosts a small selection of concept and production cars for a look into the future. A future that will include a 1,750bhp SSC Tuatara, Singer DLS and Ferrari 488 Pista Spyder among others.
Pebble gave the best in show to an old Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Touring Berlinetta. Quite lovely it was, too. Have a flick through the pics - a mere selection of what was on display - and let us know what’s your best in show.
