• Be still your beating heart. There is a new Porsche 911. It is called the Carrera 4 GTS.

As the name suggests, it is an all-wheel-drive version of the GTS launched last year; a 911 packed with all the good bits from the 911 range that we are actually rather fond of.

The 4 GTS gets the same 3.8-litre flat-six as the 2WD, complete with 408bhp and 309lb ft of torque, facilitating a 0-62mph time of 4.6 seconds (4.8 for the cabrio 4 GTS). Spec the PDK box and you'll slash two tenths of a second for both cars. You also get Porsche Traction Management as standard together with a limited slip diff. Mega.

Crucially, however, this new 4WD 911 is distinguished from its lesser-wheeled brethren via a new reflective stripe between the tail lights. And that, frankly, is worth the £83,145 (£90,024 for the cabrio) asking price alone.

Any suggestions for the next 911 variant?
