The Arden A-Type is a modified Jaguar XKR with 462bhp, and it’s up for sale
V8 super coupe bears 110,000km on the clock. Barely run in
An old Jaguar with an old V8 and an early Noughties bodykit is currently up for sale in Germany. For many euros, you could bag yourself the Arden ‘A-Type’: a hotted-up Jaguar XKR coupe.
Which means you’re getting a modified version of a stone-cold classic Jaguar that we’re probably not allowed to talk about anymore, not after… that. And that. But here we are, staring at the silver flanks of an old coupe bearing an uprated 4.4-litre V8.
Indeed, that more powerful engine now churns out 462bhp rather than the factory-approved 370-ish, delivering its meatier baritone through a bespoke Arden exhaust system “for better performance and sound”.
Arden has also fitted its own suspension (new springs and dampers) and its own brakes complete with stainless steel braided brake lines. Remember when that was a noteworthy thing?
Other noteworthy things on this A-Type include a complete bodykit comprised of new front and rear bumpers, new side skirts, spoilers and even bespoke mirrors. Inside – though you can’t see it here – there are a set of Recaros, carbon accents and even integrated sat nav. Sat nav!
“This vehicle was previously a presentation car,” said Arden. “It is in excellent condition with only 110,000km and has been carefully maintained and serviced. A highlight for collectors!”
Said collectors might like to know the price. For the sum of €48,900, you could bag yourself a hotted-up Jaguar XKR coupe.
