F1 duo realise driving a van through Europe more fun than mid-table F1 obscurity

Professional drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are set to host a new TV series where they road-trip through Europe in a minivan.
The new show follows the pair’s redirected flight home from the Azerbaijan GP, which forced them to drive the remaining leg of the journey in a rental.
Leclerc and Sainz quickly realised a late-night drive home in an extremely well-used minivan while eating snacks and sharing a few laughs was way more fun than mostly trundling around in the mid-field complaining about tyre offsets.
“Let’s be honest, we’re all here for the Charles and Carlos show,” a source close to the upcoming production told TopGear.com. “Just two incredibly gifted, likeable drivers pootling around Europe in a battered old minivan soaking up classic architecture and history, eating inappropriate snacks, and making fun of each other’s Ferrari careers.
“No terse radio messages about water in the cockpit, or new inters, or being forced to sing Smooth Operator or having to decipher complicated tyre strategies or complaining about that driver ahead cutting the chicane or being in the wrong engine mode or getting the wrong slipstream or being let out at the wrong time during qualifying.
“Just two gents with incredible hair sharing a few laughs and not having to burst a vein getting into Q3 or making the tyres last 30 laps.
“If they run out of banter we’ll just to cut to 29 minutes of watching Leclerc’s dog reacting to the word ‘inchident’.”
