The Koenigsegg Jesko Attack has set a new road car record around the TG track
Ride onboard with The Stig as he keeps the big ‘Segg on track for a monster time
Surprise! The Koenigsegg Jesko Attack has smashed the road-legal lap record around the Top Gear track and… yeah, you weren’t expecting anything less, right?
The bewinged hypercar – a sibling to the 500kmh+ Jesko Absolut – managed to blitz around Dunsfold with The Stig on board in a time of just 1m 10.9s.
That puts clear air between it and the next fastest road legal thing, the Ferrari SF90. And by ‘clear air’, we of course mean ‘four tenths of a second’. Yeesh. Those are F1 margins.
(And yes, the Caparo T1 was road legal and did it in 1m 10.6s back in 2007, but Clarkson disqualified it because it couldn't get over a speed bump.)
Of course, the Jesko Attack sounds far, far better than any (current) F1 car, thanks largely to a twin-turbocharged, flat-plane-cranked V8 that revs to 8,500rpm in just 0.2s and pumps out a whopping 1,578bhp. On Good Fuel (E85). On the regular pump juice, it makes a few hundred horsies less.
We ran it on the Good Fuel for Stig’s hotride around Dunsfold, as part of a brand new series of Stig Laps which – in yet another Surprise! – translates as our tame, mute in a white suit lapping the world’s fastest cars and scoring a time on the most prestigious leaderboard of them all.
Your host for this record attempt is Top Gear’s Jack Rix. Watch the lap above, and stay tuned for more Stig Laps coming very soon...
