Hull scallies beware: Humberside police have got their hands on a Lexus IS-F, and they're coming for you.

They're coming for you, armed with 417bhp. They're coming for you in a great cloud of tyre smoke and a blaze of Northern sirens.

What a magnificent choice of car. All-wheel-drive security? Nah. Diesel economy? Nah. Estate practicality? Nah. What we need is a slidey rear-drive Japanese saloon with a fat V8 under the bonnet, gents.

We appreciate proper fast police cars here on TopGear.com and this is one of the finest, we reckon.

It's certainly a sight lairier than the Insignia police car we saw a couple of months ago. And we might even take one instead of that Jaguar XF jam sandwich.

But the Italians are still heading the Ultimate Fast Police Car league table with this magnificent Gallardo. Come on, British bobbies, let's take the fight to the Italians. Who's up for an Ascari police car? Or a Gumpert Apollo patrol vehicle?
