Ferrari Scuderia Spider at Goodwood Festival of Speed news - Spider, flies - 2009
Getting a good time at the Goodwood Hillclimb isn't simple. There's the gnarly camber that tugs away at the steering, the hay bales with huge magnets inside (probably) and the rather solid Flint Wall to avoid. So much respect has to go to the man who completed his run in under a minute, in this Ferrari Scuderia Spider.
We don't know who was driving, though a certain German in a white suit isn't out of the question. He knows his way around Ferraris, after all.
But while one minute is a good time for a road car, there are quicker ways to get up the Hill. Check out these two clips:
Watch Nick Heidfeld in a McLaren MP4/13 (41.6secs)
Watch Rod Millen in the Toyota Tacoma ‘Pike’s Peak’ (45.08secs, in the wet). Stick with it until the end and watch him get hard on the brakes.
