Novitec has managed to extract 854bhp from the Ferrari 812 Competizione
Standard 819bhp putting you off the 812 Competizione? Novitec has you covered
Just hours after Ferrari unveiled a one-off, ‘Tailor Made’ sketchbook livery for the bonkers 812 Competizione, Novitec has been out showing what it can do when presented with the same platform.
Yep, the German tuner reckons it can improve on the 819bhp 6.5-litre V12-engined rocketship, and of course its first thought was more power.
Instead of slapping on a turbo or reflashing the ECU, this time Novitec has extracted an extra 35bhp simply by designing a new exhaust system. Impressive. We’re told that the new oval-tipped pipes allow the engine to breathe more freely while also saving weight. You can save more by speccing it to be made from Inconel rather than stainless steel too, or there’s the option of gold-plating the whole thing for better thermal insulation.
Worried that all sounds a bit too technical? Never fear, you can have the exhaust without any active sound management so once the engine is switched on, you’ll never be able to hear anything again.
There’s more too, because the Novitec 812 Comp gets sports springs (as if it didn’t have a set of those already) that lower the ride height by 25mm. A new 40mm nose lift ensures that you don’t scrape that front splitter on every speedbump, while the new forged wheels are made by Vossen and measure 21-inches up front and 22 at the rear.
Probably worth remembering here that all of the 999 examples of 812 Competizione and 599 examples of Aperta have sold out, meaning that you’ll need to send your car off to Novitec yourself to get the upgrades. If you’ve driven it already and decided that it needs more power, well...
