The £430k+ Aston Martin Vanquish 25 celebrates one of the world’s best car names

This is the Aston Martin Vanquish 25, which as the name suggests, celebrates 25 years since that original 2001 car burst onto the scene with one of the world’s best soundtracks and coolest ever names.

And as befits the car that burst into public consciousness in that godawful 007 movie – thou shalt not repeat its name – it’s been designed and specced up by Q.

As such, it comes with a special ‘Skye Silver’ paintjob, metal foil detailing on the sills, a Q Commission ‘exhaust finisher’, stainless steel side strakes, and of course, the obligatory special edition badging on the arches and on the headrests.

It also comes with 21s, ‘unique’ trim perforation patterns, laser-etched AM trim inlays, black Alcantara headlining, and the option of three interior colourways (black, tan, grey).

Of course, you’re getting a fair bit more than a few badges, thanks largely to the large 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 nestled within, developing 818bhp and 738lb ft of torque that catapults Aston’s range-topper from 0-62mph in 3.3s and up to 214mph.

But then you get all of that twin-turbo fury in the regular, non-Vanquish 25 Vanquish. Which starts from £338,000. This new car – limited, globally available and thus one of the rarest Astons you can currently buy – kicks off from £430,000.

“Anyone familiar with this iconic British brand knows the provenance of the name ‘Vanquish’ in our modern history,” said Q boss Vittorio Gabba. “25 years on from the unveiling of the very first Vanquish it is only right that we mark this nameplate’s contribution to our heritage.”

As Q famously said in that godawful 007 movie, ‘Aston Martin calls it the Vanquish, we call it the vanish’, it’ll likely… vanish rather quickly. Just 25 of each version – Coupe and Volante – are being built, and Aston tells us there’s been a lot of interest in it already…
