The RUF Ehra is a new 650bhp widebody supercar that looks like an old 911

Monterey Porsche Week continues with yet another 911-shaped release, although there aren’t actually any old bits from Stuttgart in this brand-new RUF Ehra.

You see, this is RUF’s latest supercar built on the carbon monocoque chassis it first unveiled back in 2017 with the CTR Anniversary. Since then, the SCR, the off-road spec Rodeo and the Tribute have all used the same underpinnings.

Named after the Ehra-Lessien proving ground where Phil Hill hit 211mph in the original CTR Yellowbird, this new creation is a widebody without a duck or whale tail. It’s actually 58mm wider up front than the aforementioned CTR Anniversary, and 54mm at the rear. There is a wing too, but it’s a little vented carbon pop-up item that automatically deploys at motorway speeds. How restrained.

Underneath that understated tail is RUF’s 3.6-litre twin-turbo flat-six, which here sends 650bhp and 664lb ft of torque to all-four wheels. Yikes. That’s hooked up to a seven-speed manual gearbox, and we’re promised double wishbones at all four corners with pushrod-actuated horizontal adaptive dampers.

The Ehra also gets LED lights, air intakes in its rear quarter windows and new forged five-spoke wheels with centrelocks. This first car is finished in ‘Liquid Silver’ paint with a hand-stitched brown leather interior. Yum. Check out the titanium pedals, the green gauges and the Pasha pattern on the carbon bucket seats too. Now that’s an interior.

RUF’s latest creation was revealed at The Quail alongside its latest customer cars – a Rodeo, CTR Anniversary, SCR and a bonkers CTR3 EVO.
