For sale: the world’s fastest roadster. The price? £1.8m
254mph, one-of-eight Veyron GSV is up for grabs. You want it
What we have here is a car you can buy for what feels like as many Pounds as it has words in its name.
Bugatti built eight Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Editions to celebrate the 254.04mph world record it nabbed way back in April 2013. Still officially the world’s quickest roadster, the WRE differs from the ‘standard’ Grand Sport Vitesse in only price and colour – the fetching orange and black combo echoing what we first saw on the hard-top Veyron world record holder.
This Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition was registered to a UK buyer in October 2013, and has covered as little as 1130 miles in the two and a bit years since it left the dealer. New, these things were £1.5million minus tax (at today's exchange rate). Now this one’s up for sale at a London dealer for £1,795,000, representing a £18,071 saving over the VAT-inclusive £1,813,071 list. You could buy a whole Fiesta ST for that.
And they say we don’t do consumer advice.
