In this month’s issue of Top Gear magazine, we celebrate a legendary manufacturer that has inspired millions - Lamborghini.

Few companies have a greater sense of identity, and this month’s cover star is arguably the most significant ‘concept’ in Lamborghini’s history: the 910bhp petrol-electric hybrid Asterion. Lamborghini granted us exclusive access to the Asterion’s design team to bring you the full incredible story.

Get more on the Asterion in this month’s Lamborghini special edition of Top Gear magazine - on sale in all major supermarkets and newsagents.

This month’s issue also comes with the FREE 66-page Guide to Watches, featuring James May.

In celebration of the Asterion, we take a look back over some of Lamborghini’s theatrical creations - Reventón, Aventador J, Sesto Elemento, Veneno and Egoista - automotive extravagances that have not only snatched the headlines from their rivals at motor shows around the world, but turned a profit or become rolling test beds for future productions.

Also in this special issue, we meet Lambo’s big boss Stephan Winkelmann and go hurricane chasing in Arizona, in… well, a Huracán, of course. From the unforgettable Miura to the equally unforgettable LM002, we chart the history of Lambo’s biggest hits and misses and finally we go racing in the lightly angry Huracán Super Trofeo.

Not only that, we also found time to drive the 707bhp Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, as we tackled one of the US’s twistiest roads in this all-American muscle machine. In the road tests, the Ford Fiesta Black takes on the Mini Cooper, and the BMW i8, Porsche 911 and Jaguar F-Type do battle.

Hammond’s icon this month is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition, and Kamui Kobayashi takes our Driving Test. Plus, we review all the latest new cars that matter, including the Ford Mustang, Ford Focus, Nissan Pulsar, Infiniti Q50, Smart ForTwo, Porsche Cayenne S and Jeep Renegade.

Get all of this, plus the usual thoughts/ramblings from Clarkson, Hammond and May.
