Video: Aston Martin's £65m housewarming party

Aston’s pro drivers christen the company’s new Welsh factory in the wildest way possible

Read more on:

Aston Martin has moved into its new factory at St Athan, Wales. Like any move, it’s one deserving of a housewarming. Or so thought engineering boss Matt Becker and Aston works drivers Darren Turner and Nicki Thiim.

With a wealth of Aston’s delectable history assembled – from DB4 to One-77, Vantage to Vulcan and Lagonda to Le Mans racer, the greatest hits are all proudly sitting inside the new facility. All £65m worth.

Not for long, though, as the three quickly get itchy feet so see which will powerslide the best. Turns out clean new factory floors are a bit deficient in grip…

There are all sorts of wonderful groupings, from James Bond’s classic DB5 and contemporary DB10 finally meeting up, to Aston’s holy trinity – the One-77, Vulcan and Cygnet. Yes, really.

All will be explained when you click play above. You can also go behind the scenes on the shoot with Top Gear’s gallery.

And tell us below: with a brand-new factory at your disposal, which Aston would you grab the keys for?
