Watch: can mere mortals drive an Aston Martin Valkyrie?
Unless your name is Fernando, four-figure power AND downforce is... a lot. Could *you* simply hop in a hypercar and rag it?
Can just anyone drive an Aston Martin Valkyrie? Well, no, because if you’re tall or wide you simply won’t fit into the snug little Formula 1-inspired cockpit. And there are only so many people who can afford the privilege in the first place.
But hypothetically... could you jump behind the wheel of a hypercar and take it for a spin around a track?
We don't mean with it tickling it along at idle either, but properly uncorking the 6.5-litre V12, mashing the ERS button for an extra 143bhp of e-boost, and chasing the big speeds where the full 1,000kg of downforce is present and correct.
To answer such a question, Top Gear put its Editor-in-Chief, Jack Rix into an Aston Martin Valkyrie... after Contributing Editor Jethro Bovingdon had shown him what it could really do. Play the tape.
