Watch the world’s fastest wheel change
OK, so you're used to seeing sub-three second pit stops in Formula One. But that's with six dozen Stig-suited mechanics on hand, wielding the world's most high-tech tools.
Here is the world's fastest road-car wheel change, conducted by four hardy Germans with nothing but a set of wheel braces and hydraulic jack to hand. The time?
Just 59.62 seconds to change all four steel wheels on a Ford Focus. Impressive, no?
The men in question go by the collective name of 'kfzteile24', and the attempt - watched over by a Guinness World Records official - was conducted at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz on 31 May, 2015.
Guinness tells TopGear.com that kfzteile24 were the sixth to make an attempt since this record was first set in 2001. They beat the previous record of 1m 23.85s.
Have a watch of the video above. It's in German, but you'll get the gist: wheels off, wheels on, stop the clock, lots of cheering. Good work, gents.
Rumours could not be confirmed that, at the one-minute mark, the rival British team were still scratching their heads and muttering, "All four wheels? Changed today? A Sunday? You'll be lucky, mate. Come back Tuesday..."
