Watch a Renault 5 spin at Goodwood
Former rally ace Jean Ragnotti goes 360… on purpose. This is how you salsa in a Renault
This is a video of an old man in an old Renault attempting to drive up the hill at last weekend's Goodwood Festival of Speed. He spins it. Three times.
But here's the kicker. The driver is former rally ace Jean Ragnotti. The car in question is his classic Renault 5 Maxi Turbo. And the full 360-degree spins? They're all on purpose.
How does he manage this? Ragnotti don't forget, is a bit handy. He won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1981, and the Tour de Corse in 1985. He knows his little Renault inside out.
And backwards, it would seem. Oh sure, you might legitimately cry, we've all managed to do a 360-spin in an old Renault. But many of those times may not have been on purpose.
Watch. Then repeat.
