What should I be paying?
Easy to figure out, as the MG4 Urban comes in just two trims and two battery sizes. And you can't have the top trim with the small battery, so it's just three variants in all.
The Comfort trim Standard Range (that is, 201 miles) is £23,495 – minus the £1,500 'MG Grant'. That buys all the space, all the MG Pilot, LED headlights. But the 16-inch wheels look a bit underfed.
Another £2,000 buys that spec with the bigger battery for 258 miles WLTP.
Then it's £2,500 more again for the Premium with the Long Range battery. The step seems worth the money: battery pre-heating, heated seats, heated steering wheel, wireless phone charger, six speakers instead of four, ambient lighting are all in that bundle.
At launch, the eyebrow-raising offer is £0 down and 0 per cent interest. How ironic – zero interest is what most of this car’s buyers will have in the art of driving.
Warranty is seven years and 80,000 miles.
