Interior

What is it like on the inside?

The Sentra’s cabin is fairly nominal in terms of space; far from cozy, but not unusually spacious. In terms of design, it’s sharp, neat and, most importantly, functional.

Embellishments are few, but distinct, and don’t distract from the important components like the 12.3-inch infotainment screen and the various physical controls. This screen is twinned with another 12.3-inch display housing driver information, so long as you’re not in the base S or SV trims, which have the standard seven-inch display instead.

Either way, the Sentra keeps it simple and as organized as possible while supplying the screen real estate for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mirroring, not to mention the 360-degree parking cameras if so equipped.

How much space is there?

For people, there’s room enough for five in a pinch, leaving 14.3 cu ft (405 liters) of space in the trunk.

The rear seats can fold down, completely or in a 40/60 split, which extends the capacity for long boxes and such. The passenger compartment is 96 cu ft (2,718 liters), though obviously that’s not all open for cargo-hauling. So the amount of room is left over for stuff requires a bit of math on your end and some honest self-assessment.

How is the technology?

For the price, you get just about everything you need, particularly peace of mind thanks to the active safety tech included. Nissan’s packed the Sentra with most of the essentials, though you’ll need to rely on smartphone pairing for navigation.

A 360-degree camera view is handy to have for parking situations and the ProPilot assist driving suite – dynamic cruise control and lane-keep assists, mostly – make long highway hauls easier to endure.
There’s a litany of safety features too long to go into here, which is a good thing, incidentally, so all told the Sentra comes fairly loaded with everything you’d need, apart from what your mobile device brings to the table.
