A wintry trip down to the end of Cornwall gives the CX-30 a chance to prove its credentials as a long-distance family wagon. Credentials proved, at least from the perspective of ‘behind the wheel’. The CX-30’s driving position is great and economy is a consistent 40mpg for motorway driving – as good as I’ve seen from a petrol engine. That my three travelling companions slept the entire journey must indicate it’s comfy and quiet for passengers. Space inside? Far roomier than a Mazda3 hatch, but the roofline does cut into bootspace a little.
