Top Gear Series 9 (2007)

Captain Slow goes where few drivers have gone before by taking the Bugatti Veyron to its maximum speed at Volkswagen’s Ehra-Lessien test facility, while the three presenters endeavour to resurface a road in less than 24 hours. There’s also a bid to join the space race as Jeremy and Richard attempt to create a reusable shuttle out of a Reliant Robin. Jeremy has the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 out on the track, and the likes of Simon Pegg and Kristin Scott Thomas take a spin in the Reasonably Priced Car.

Race to the North Pole

Jeremy and James launch into unchartered territory with an ambitious bid to become the first people to drive to the magnetic North Pole, while Richard attempts to beat them to the finish line on a sled with Matty McNair and her team of dogs. Equipped with a modified Toyota Hilux and a group of Icelandic specialists, Clarkson and May appear to have the race in the bag, although a foreboding ice boulder field stands between them and their place in the history books. Before all that though, the trio must undergo harsh physical training to prepare them for the trip, with brutally honest advice delivered by Sir Ranulph Fiennes and a man with a pixelated face.
