Bentley’s 111 colour options didn’t do it for this American customer, so Mulliner created a bespoke ‘Candy Pink’
Bentley’s bespoke division mixes a custom colour for a Bentayga EWB. Perhaps stick to the standard palette next time?
Bentley claims that there are no fewer than 46 billion different colour and trim combinations for its cars available through the ‘mainstream palette’. Sounds like you could lose a few days on the configurator.
And yet, what if that palette doesn’t have exactly the shade you’re looking for? That was apparently the case for an American Bentayga EWB buyer recently, and erm… oh no.
Yep, said customer went to Bentley’s Mulliner department and had a custom colour created. In a recent press release, Bentley itself described it as an “eye-catching shade of Candy Pink”. Yeah, we know what that really means.
“With a colour palette of 111 exterior paints including solids, metallics, pearlescent and satins, there is already a significant choice. Pinks are an exception, but with the expertise of the Mulliner team, the customer’s vision was brought to life,” reads the release. We suspect this new shade might not be the 112th option added to the colour palette.
Bentley said 70 per cent of all Bentayga buyers now spec at least one custom Mulliner feature in their car, but this particular customer went even further with a black leather interior combined with ‘Cherry Blossom’ accents and stitching. Yikes. They also specced the fancy rear ‘Airline Seats’ (which Bentley claims is the most advanced seat ever fitted to a car) and a ‘Mulliner Bottle Cooler’ with two bespoke handcrafted Cumbria Crystal flutes. Naturally.
Whaddya reckon?
