The new Jensen Interceptor will start out as a track-only supercar
New V8 Interceptors won’t be road legal to begin with…
Jensen International continues to drip feed us information about its all-new Interceptor, and we now know that the GTX will arrive first as a track-only supercar. We also know from the new image above that it’ll use plenty of carbon fibre and get a whacking great diffuser.
“The Interceptor GTX is no static show car,” said boss David Duerden.
“It is a track-focused special, developed as an enhanced prototype build, which will preview upcoming Jensen models. We can’t wait to unveil it to the world, fittingly sixty years after the launch of the original Jensen Interceptor.”
Yep, these will essentially be pre-production cars that’ll be sold as “ultra-high-performance, track-only specials”. We’ll then see several different Interceptor variants in the future, including “roadgoing models and track-focused cars”.
All new Interceptors will be designed, engineered and hand-built in the UK, and specs will include an aluminium chassis, aluminium body panels and a supercharged V8 engine. We’re also promised a proper analogue driving experience.
Anyone else as excited as we are for the Interceptor’s return?
