Mitsubishi is coming back to the UK!

Although don’t expect a new Evo. No doubt it'll be crossovers and SUVs galore

Mitsubishi is back! Five years after announcing it was leaving the UK, the Japanese brand is set to make a triumphant return to our shores. Well… kinda.

Technically its importer and distributor International Motors Ltd that has taken the decision to bring Mitsubishi vehicles back into the UK, and we’re told that the models will be “drawn from Mitsubishi Motors’ global lineup”.

So yeah, don’t expect a brand-new Evo any time soon. International Motors will apparently bring “the brand’s latest advancements in innovation and four-wheel drive technologies, to the UK market".

That presumably means the Outlander will return in its latest generation, and we might also see a new L200 pickup. The latter is known as the Triton in other parts of the world and a burly new Mk6 arrived in 2023.

We may also see some of the hybrid or electric crossovers that Mitsubishi currently sells in Europe. They’re all essentially rebadged Renaults after an Alliance deal was made in 2023. That’s all guesswork for now though – all we know officially is that customer deliveries will begin again in the summer of 2026.

“We’re delighted to be introducing exciting new Mitsubishi vehicles to our loyal UK customers,” said Sharon Townsend, boss of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK.

“Over the past few years, we’ve continued to see enthusiasm for the brand, which has strongly influenced this decision. By building on our trusted aftersales network and dedicated retailer partners, we are committed to providing an exceptional ownership experience.”

Just bring back the Evo and watch those sales soar…
