New Elextra electric supercar takes aim at the Tesla Model S
First details of four-door, four-seat electric supercar capable of 0-62mph in 2.3s
Another day, another supercar tease. This is the work of Swiss company Classic Factory, and it is called the 'Elextra'. It is a four-door, four-seat electric supercar that promises to be quite fast indeed.
How fast? We've only been given a 0-62mph time, which is "less than 2.3 seconds". Yep, Tesla, it's looking straight at you.
We've not yet been told exactly how 0-62mph in 2.3s is made possible, but we are assured that the Elextra offers the "highest level of engineering and craftsmanship available". Again, no clues as to what that really entails.
Classic Factory simply state the Elextra is based upon "the best electric vehicle platform in the world" (is it a Tesla platform, we wonder?), and that it will be hand-built in Germany by a company apparently very good at hand-building low volume cars.
Ah yes, low volume. Classic Factory is planning on just 100 of these Elextra four-door supercars. The looks? CF's Robert Palm said the idea behind Elextra "is to combine pure lines" to elicit memories of "the most exciting Italian supercars of the past, whilst being resolutely forward looking thanks to its low, sleek and beautiful design". All we've got to go on so far is the render above.
Oh, and if Classic Factory rings a bell, it's because it's the same company behind the rather lovely Lyonheart K, that modern take on the Jaguar E-Type from a few years ago...
