Renault 5 pricing: reborn electric hatch will start at £22,995
Prices have been revealed for the new 5, and it’s a fiver cheaper than we expected…
Renault has confirmed pricing for the reborn 5 in the UK, and rather fittingly it will cost a whole £5 less than we expected.
We thought the 5 would start at £23,000 here in Blighty, but prices will actually start at £22,995 for the ‘urban range’ version in entry-level Evolution trim. Urban Range cars will get a 118bhp electric motor paired with a 40kWh battery for 190 miles of WLTP range and a 0-62mph time of 9.0 seconds.
Evolution trim will include 18in diamond cut alloy wheels, a 10.1in infotainment screen, a 7in digital dial display, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, cruise control, a heat pump, bidirectional charging and LED lights.
Step up to Techno trim with the same motor/battery combo and you’ll pay £24,995 but receive a larger 10in dial display, denim upholstery, adaptive cruise control, a wireless phone charger, a rear-view camera, a central armrest with storage, two-tone paint options and the illuminated ‘5’ charging indicator on the bonnet. Seems like decent value.
For £26,995 you can then choose between either the top spec Iconic Five trim (different 18in wheels, yellow-trimmed heated seats and steering wheel, adaptive cruise control with lane centring, hands-free parking etc) with the smaller battery and less powerful motor, or you can stick with the aforementioned Techno trim and upgrade to the bigger 52kWh battery known as ‘Comfort Range’.
That ups range to 248 miles WLTP and also brings a more powerful 148bhp motor, which in turn drops the 0-62mph time to 7.9 seconds. Both cars are limited to a top whack of just 93mph, though.
If you want top of the tree Iconic Five trim and the Comfort Range battery/motor you’ll pay £28,995. Pretty simple walk up the range, then.
The new 5 will be available to order here in the UK from January 2025 and first deliveries will take place in the Spring. Just one choice to make now – Pop Yellow or Pop Green for the exterior paint?
