As you'll well know by now, all new electric vehicles must be fitted with an Acoustic Vehicle Alert System that emits some form of artificial sound to warn pedestrians that a slow-moving EV is about.

What that sound is depends on the manufacturers. BMW worked with Hans Zimmer on a score for its M Next supercar concept, and the new Fiat 500 plays Amarcord by Nino Rota when below 12mph.

And now Skoda has announced that all of its future electric vehicles will get their own specific ‘acoustic signatures’. Fancy.

The first of those EVs will be the Enyaq iV, and it sounds properly like a spaceship. Have a listen to the video below, then click these blue words here to read up on the Enyaq

Skoda says the sound was created in collaboration with a team of composers and was then fine-tuned in the Volkswagen Group's acoustic laboratory. Sounds like a good gig.

What do you make of the signature, folks?
