What is it?

In the pre-Covid days when tech bro ultra-luxe EVs were definitely, absolutely going to be all the rage, Aston Martin proudly announced the resurrection of the century-old Lagonda name, to be applied to a pair of hyper-futuristic electric flagships: a saloon and an SUV.

Did they build any?

Only concept models were ever shown, complete with gullwing doors, 15-minute recharging and talk of autonomous chauffeuring. By 2021 the project was reportedly in choppy waters, with chief Lawrence Stroll confirming the Vision was ‘completely dead’ in 2024.

Where is it now?

Aston Martin retains the Lagonda trademark, but following two failed reboots (in 2010 it was applied to a truly gopping SUV concept) it’s now on ice, with Stroll saying Aston’s current lineup is bougie enough (and its customers are by no means desperate for EVs).

The only Aston with a plug? The 1,064bhp Valhalla supercar. With nine miles of e-range.
