Aww, the baby Renault Twingo’s getting a baby glass roof called ‘Twingobay’

Pano roof will soon be an option for the reborn electric city car

Published: 06 Oct 2026

The new Renault Twingo is adorable. A fun little car full of joy. Now, you can fill even more of it with joy (assuming you live somewhere sunny) because Renault will soon offer the Twingo with the adorably named ‘Twingobay’.

That’s a tiny 0.7m2 panoramic roof that will add a bit more sense of space inside the baby car. And because it’s a fun little baby car and not a serious gwown up car, the roof’s been rounded off! And it gets a little graphic alphabet on the inside too!

Obviously, there is some gwown up stuff to talk about, like the fact this new roof is apparently able to filter out 99.9 per cent of UVs and block out ‘most’ IR radiation. There’s a “low emissivity film” that gives the car “high standards of thermal comfort” and… OK, that’s enough sensibleness.

Is Renault's new Twingo the happiest little car of 2026?

We do not yet know if it’ll open allowing your passengers or your dog to stick their heads out and embrace the elements, but… come on Renault, make it so. Imagine a giant St Bernard’s head sticking out the top of a car smaller than itself.

UK cars will get the roof next summer, so prices will be revealed closer to the time.

In other less fun news, Renault’s decided what the Twingo also needs to be filled with is artificial intelligence, so Gemini will be an optional OTA update coming soon too.
