Modify your BMW M5 Touring with these M Performance parts
Though most importantly, we’ve discovered you can buy an ORANGE M5 estate
Clearly the headline here is BMW’s release of a suite of M Performance parts for its big, brash and bombastic new M5 Touring. Think Posh Nineties Modified Car Mag, and you’re about there.
But for us, the biggest reveal is seeing a big, brash and bombastic new M5 Touring resplendent in orange. It might have been available in orange forever. It might be a new orange. Whatever – it looks superb.
All the better to see those M mods in better detail. Like the new carbon fibre front splitter, carbon fibre side sills, and new carbon fibre rear diffuser matched to M Performance exhaust tips.
There are also rear fins – because Big BMW Shark – made out of carbon fibre, along with new mirror caps and a carbon fibre fuel cap that, says BMW, “turns every refuel into a small pit stop”. Yeah. No.
Though, you’ll be familiar with these ‘pit stops’. Because when the M5 Touring’s battery has drained, BMW claims just under 26mpg from that turbo V8. And the tank’s 60 litres. And the V8 punches out 577bhp alone. And it’ll do 0-62mph in 3.5s. And it weighs as much as the moon.
Moving on. The interior is already Very M, but you can make it More Very M via new floor mats, an M Performance key case which’ll make everyone your friend, and a set of M Performance tyre bags for transporting your special track wheels.
All of these look very good and worthy, but really, if you’re going to buy a new BMW M5 Touring, channel a Nineties Modified Car Mag and spec it in orange.
