The Tedson Motors ‘Etna’ is a gorgeous 600bhp Gallardo restomod
Lighter and more powerful, a Croatian tuner has cranked up the first-gen Gallardo
Got a pre-facelift Lamborghini Gallardo and £625,000 knocking around? This right here might just be the ideal way to merge them. Dubbed the ‘Etna’ and conceived by Croatian coachbuilder Tedson Motors, it’s a rework of the V10-powered supercar. Quite stunning, too.
It's 6cm wider than standard and sits lower to the ground for a more aggressive stance. The front gets a heavy facelift, losing the vents on either side of the bumper, and revised Teledial alloys supported by larger inlets ahead of the rear arches for more drama than Rachel getting off the plane.
But Tedson’s greatest efforts have been focused towards the rear. The roofline gets a body-coloured cover to seamlessly connect it with a ducktail rear wing, and when you finally have your attention diverted by the size of those custom titanium exhausts, you’ll spot the light signatures look completely different.
There’s been just as much fiddling mechanically: the 5.0-litre nat-asp V10 gets fresh internals to gain 80bhp over the standard Gallado to produce a nice, shouty 600bhp, while the redline jumps to 10,000rpm. Tedson has also said it will only be working with automatic gearbox versions to “preserve the manual cars for future generations”. The sort of mindset we very much approve of.
Elsewhere, you’ll get suspension components snatched from the Gallardo Super Trofeo cars, and lightweighting. Tedson's deployed much carbon across the body, chassis and interior and somehow shed nearly 200kg over the donor car, which is some feat. The whole thing took around three years to develop, apparently.
Tedson boss Goran Turkic said: “The first-generation Gallardo stood out for its naturally aspirated even-firing V10, hydraulic steering and manual gearbox - a rare formula in today’s digital supercar age. Our goal with the Etna was clear: make it lighter, stronger and more responsive while enhancing its analogue soul.”
Alongside your investment of a donor car and at least £625,000 - which will scale depending on colour finishes and materials used - you’ll need to sit tight for about a year for Tedson to complete the conversion.
