Top Gear's six favourite F1 podium celebrations

Winning is a joyous thing. These F1 drivers have (or had) a funny way of showing it...

Mark Webber
  1. Lewis Hamilton

In 2016 Lewis Hamilton celebrated his British Grand Prix victory by indulging in an activity usually reserved for the world’s most famous rock stars: the humble crowd surf. And it made him late for the post-race press conference, which is cooler still.

  2. Daniel Ricciardo

Everyone loved Daniel Ricciardo during his time in F1. Same went for his hilarious/disgusting/crowd-pleasing trademark. Being asked to do the podium interviews for a race Danny Ric had even the slightest chance of winning was fraught with risk, because he’d absolutely make you do a shoey with him.

  3. Rubens Barrichello

Just why Barrichello felt compelled to feign surprise everytime he stepped onto a podium, we have no idea. Funny, though.

  4. Mark Webber

Mark Webber is already a very tall man. But whenever he won, he felt compelled to jump high above everyone’s heads. Is being a giant not enough, Mark?

  5. Michael Schumacher

Another jumper. Michael spent so much time on the podium, we’re surprised he didn’t have calves the circumference of a redwood.

  6. Kimi Räikkönen

He got a lot of stick for looking miserable, even when he did pretty well, but has anyone even considered the fact that maybe Kimi can’t smile? Who knows.
