Brabus has built a 641bhp Mercedes-AMG C63 S
Tuner's latest creation is a pumped up C63: how does 0-62mph in 3.7s sound?
This is no ordinary Mercedes-AMG C63. It’s a Mercedes-AMG C63 to which Brabus has added much power and many torques. The headline figures are 641bhp and 604lb ft, increases of 138bhp and 88lb ft over a normal, not-at-all inadequate 503bhp C63 S.
The 0-62mph now takes just 3.7secs - a 0.3sec improvement - and it’s limited (yes, limited) to 200mph. Yikes.
All that extra power comes from a pair of new turbochargers, which have bigger compressor units and reinforced axial bearings, and a Brabus control unit to better manage the electronic boost pressure control. Brabus also adds 10-way adjustable Bilstein coilovers and many bits of carbon fibre trim it claims reduces lift and improves stability. It all looks a bit Wilmslow, but for high-speed autobahning, we quite like the idea.
We’d absolutely tick the box for the switchable stainless-steel exhaust (why wouldn’t you), which has a special ‘Coming Home’ mode presumably for pulling into suburban driveways late at night. And yes, should you ask it, Brabus will do you a 650 as an Estate.
No word on price yet, but bet on significantly more than a standard £66,810 C63 S. We'll see it proper at next week's Geneva Motor Show.
