Jaguar XK news - Jag's XK thwarts car thieves - 2006

Published: 12 Apr 2006

As if the new Jaguar XK wasn't exclusive enough, the Coventry firm has introduced a custom-built anti-theft system.

The 'JaguarWatch' Stolen Vehicle Tracking Device does exactly what it says on the tin, helping the police locate the car should it be stolen.

A hidden transponder in the car alerts the police if the vehicle is pinched, while it also allows the Jag to be remotely immobilised to bring it to a safe stop.

The JaguarWatch system meets the stringent Thatcham Category 5 requirements if bought in the Automatic Driver Recognition (ADR) version.

There is also a simpler tracking version on offer without the ADR. It starts at £1,401, which includes three years' subscription across Europe.
