Meet Hyundai's nitrous-powered Santa Fe concept
SEMA show car packs a boosted 3.3-litre V6 with four-wheel-drive and much attitude
The SEMA show is approaching. Which means the world’s carmakers are readying their finest modified wares ahead of the annual Las Vegas tuning extravaganza. Here is Hyundai’s car - a hotted-up Santa Fe.
Yep, the humble SUV has been turned into a not-so-humble off-road monster, packing a modified 3.3-litre V6, a new cold air intake, a Mishimoto cooling system, and, um, nitrous. Cue your finest Fast and Furious lines.
There’s more. There’s a custom Magnaflow exhaust system, the brakes are now much, much more powerful (six piston calipers up front, four on the back), it’s got KING coilovers on the front, and 2.5 KING shocks at the back. The whole suspension is, predictably, a custom setup. Its four-wheel-drive, too.
You want more still? Fine. 17in off-road wheels are partnered with 35in off-road tyres, it’s got a WINCH, a custom roof rack and new head- and tail-lights, and some natty leather inside.
“Our Rockstar Santa Fe Concept is simultaneously all-show and all-go, a non-compromising concept with tremendous capabilities and a confident demeanor to match,” explains Rockstar’s lead concept car developer Nick Ashby.
There’s no word on power, but this is built for SEMA. Expect much power. And bass, obvs.
