RENNtech has built a 1,051bhp Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series
US tuner goes all-in on the Black Series for a 219mph top speed
Ever feel like your 720bhp AMG GT Black Series is just a little sluggish? Well, US-based tuner RENNtech will happily rectify that first world problem for you.
This may look like any other bonkers Black Series from the outside, but under that long bonnet the dry-sumped 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 complete with its flat plane crank is now putting out a ludicrous 1,051bhp and 831lb ft of torque.
The standard Black Series will manage 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 202mph, but RENNtech’s shouty upgrade means the same sprint in “3.0 seconds or less” and a top speed of 219mph.
The power upgrade comes from new, larger turbochargers, a stainless steel exhaust, new air filters and a Transmission Control Unit tune to help the seven-speed gearbox cope.
What do we think, folks?
