Just wait until you see the interior of this glorious £2.5m 1998 RUF CTR 2 Sport
Oooft, this CTR 2 Sport is one of just 14 ever built. And no, it didn’t recently fall backwards off a transporter
This incredible RUF CTR 2 Sport is all set to cross the block at Broad Arrow Auctions’ Monterey Jet Center sale in mid-August, and if the estimate is accurate then we’ll probably have to admit defeat and let someone else buy it. Booo. The auctioneers reckon it’ll fetch somewhere between £2.2m and £2.5m.
We can see why. The CTR 2 Sport may be from the Nineties, but its spec wouldn’t look out of place on a new supercar in 2025. We’re talking carbon and Kevlar body panels, all-wheel drive, a six-speed manual, carbon ceramic brakes and 580bhp from a twin-turbo 3.6-litre flat-six. The 0-62mph sprint takes 3.6 seconds and it’ll run on to a top speed of 217mph. Yep, it was the fastest production car in the world when it was first born.
One thing that doesn’t look quite so modern is the interior, and it’s all the better for it. Just check out that glorious green leather and the clear, analogue dials. Stunning.
We’re told this particular car has 16,679 miles on the clock and recently received a full service from RUF North America. Oh, and it wasn’t the black RUF that you may have seen dangling from a car transporter on social media a couple of days ago. Phew.
