Woah, Carlex Design is working on a restomod Jaguar XJ C
Polish tuning company goes retro. Lots of leather ensues…
Blimey, these renders are rather tasty. This Jaguar XJ C is the work of Carlex Jewel – a new division of Polish tuning company Carlex Design.
It sounds as though Jewel will essentially be a restomod company, and Carlex says it’ll aim to build ‘a few’ cars each year. Best not to put a number on it, hey?
The focus will apparently be on unique interiors, with “classic vintage colours, top quality hand-aged leather, and absolutely no plastic”.
The outside is equally glitzy. There’s plenty of chrome, modern lights and massive arches, as well as British Racing Green paint and a quad-exit exhaust. Carlex also says that “carbon makes the body light” – although quite how much it will use isn’t obvious.
There’ll be all new internals too, but the details on those are similarly scant. We know there’ll be a 400bhp V8 under that glorious bonnet, and we’re also promised a new gearbox, brakes, wheels and suspension.
What do we think, Internet?
