You can now build your very own McLaren 675LT Spider*
*on McLaren's new configurator. Time to spec your £285k supercar
Perhaps you, like us, eyed the weird greenie-brown colour McLaren chose to launch the new 675LT Spider in, wearing those fussy multispoke wheels, and wondered if you could do better. If you, given the choice, could create a sexier, more crowd-pleasing look for McLaren’s 666bhp, 203mph ultra-cabrio.
Good news! McLaren has added its new lightweight, more hardcore Spider to the family of configurators on the Woking manufacturer’s website. So you can now while away the hours until Santa visits, or until whatever that new sci-fi film is arrives, by speccing your very own drop-top LT.
As per usual, there’s a dizzying array of paint choices. Feast your eyes, too, on the many pieces of carbonfibre than you can choose to stick to the side of your LT, and yes, the two other options of superlight alloy wheel to replace the wire-spoke tribute acts.
No matter what equipment you drape the LT Spider in, it’s going to be fast. Coming in 100kg lighter than the 650S Spider thanks to all-carbon bodywork and racier engine internals, it’ll romp from 0-62mph in 2.9 seconds, and rip past 124mph in 8.1 seconds. Wonder if McLaren Special Operations are adding extra-strong hairpiece glue to the options list?
Actually deciding how their own McLaren 675LT Spider will look is a problem only 500 very lucky, very rich individuals are ever going to actually tackle, so we’d grab the opportunity to have a crack yourself now. Reckon you’ve got a more traffic-stopping combination than TG.com’s brown with cheese-grater rims and green calipers?
