Take the wheel in Top Gear’s EXPLOSIVE petrol station jump!
360-degree video: the first of three stunt driver auditions begins here
A glaring oversight in the UK’s current practical driving test setup – which includes such challenges as reversing around a corner, changing lanes, avoid making it into a YouTube ‘fail’ video – is the bit where you need to pilot a truck full of fuel up a ramp and jump over a petrol station.
Thankfully, Top Gear is here to help Britain’s learner drivers. It’s why we’ve created this truly EXPLOSIVE new 360-degree video, whereby you assume the mantle of our resident stunt driver.
Your mission, if you haven’t already guessed, is to selflessly ride onboard a Chevrolet Silverado equipped with a 5.0-litre V8 and quite a lot of fuel on board, up a reasonably sized ramp carrying enough speed to see you over a petrol station. Truly, this is textbook driving test stuff.
Reckon you’re up for it? Hit the video above to watch the stunt in all its speedy, jumpy and often explodey 360-degree glory. For the best experience – outside of, y’know, physically being in the actual Chevy – use headphones and watch on your mobile device, Daydream View or Google Cardboard.
Viewing it on a desktop? It’ll only work with Google Chrome. Don’t blame us, blame The Stig.
And stay tuned for the second instalment scheduled to, um, land, this Thursday…
