This V12 Aston Martin Vanquish from 'Die Another Day' is up for auction

No bulletproofing or camo suits, unfortunately, but it has done just 37,800 miles during its storied life so far

Published: 29 Aug 2024

Today’s very cool used car for sale is this: one of the seven first-generation Aston Martin Vanquishes used in a movie called Die Another Day. If you’re unfamiliar with this movie, it’s a slow burning, kitchen-sink drama about the- no, wait, it's a smashy-smashy James Bond film!

And if you want a bona-fide piece from this smashy-smashy James Bond film, you can submit a bid in H&H Classics' upcoming auction, where it's expected to sell for anywhere between £50,000 and £70,000. That’s pretty much what non-Bond examples are going for at the minute too, for some reference.

Sadly, you won’t get a camouflage system or ejector seat, but you will get an all-natural 6.0-litre V12 with one of the world's very finest soundtracks en route to a top speed of 195mph. Probably won’t do that while skating on ice, mind.

The Tungsten Silver exterior/Charcoal leather interior combo also nods back to the DB5 used in earlier movies, just as the aluminium central reservation does. Given this Vanquish has covered just 37,800 miles since it left the factory, it’s still got plenty of life left in it to inexplicably chase metallic green Jaguar XKRs around.

In case you needed a bit more convincing to put in an offer, this actual car was also used as the lead parade vehicle for the opening of the world-famous M6 Toll in 2003. That’s… so very interesting.

Anyway, it’s set to go under the hammer at Duxford’s Imperial War Museum in early October, leaving you enough time to rewatch and then attempt to understand any of that movie called Die Another Day.
