Volvo XC90 news - Volvo revises XC90 engine line-up - 2006

Published: 18 Apr 2006

Volvo has gone V8 crazy.

Not only will those fun lovin' Swedes be bringing us a V8 S80, there's an eight-cylinder XC90 on the way in July.

The 315bhp, 4.4-litre V8 unit heads up a whole new range of petrol engines for Volvo's SUV.

There's also a new 3.2-litre straight-six with 238bhp, while the two versions of the 2.4-litre turbodiesel remain.

The revised XC90 will bring with it improved safety features, including a blind-spot camera and reversing camera, while the neater cabin boasts an MP3 port.

No prices as yet, but Volvo says there will be a small premium for the new petrols.
