Buying
What should I be paying?
With the new Clio still so far from launch in the UK there are no official prices just yet. You’ll actually still be able to buy the old fifth generation car for a long while yet, and not just from stock. The factory will keep producing them in right-hand drive while development of the new car is ongoing. That fifth gen is still a popular thing too. In fact, it was still the best-selling car in Europe in the first half of 2025.
The new Clio will likely start at around £20,000 when it does reach our shores in 2027, with the hybrid around the £23,000 mark.
What trim levels are there?
The names of the trim levels won’t actually change from the current car’s, which means you’ve got Evolution, Techno and Esprit Alpine versions.
Entry level trims will likely get 16in wheels, with the Esprit Alpine getting larger 18in items and a sportier look. All versions will now get adaptive cruise control as standard and the two 10.1in screens, while higher trims will unlock things like wireless phone charging, the Harman Kardon stereo and more active safety tech.
Two new paint colours are lifted from the new Twingo’s palette, so in addition to the usual white/black/grey/blue you now get the choice of ‘Absolute Red’ or ‘Absolute Green’.
Can I have a baguette holder?
Sorry, that one’s a no. Renault is keeping its fun accessories for the retro R4 and R5, while the Clio will have things like a rear spoiler and side skirts as boxes to tick on its configurator.
