Audi apprentices built this A2 e-tron and it might be the company’s best EV yet
Whoops, Audi’s youngsters have restomodded the brilliant A2 and created something better than all of its regular EVs
Well, this is a little bit awkward. Audi’s apprentices and their supervisors have just finished a project to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the innovative little Audi A2, and they may have accidentally come up with the brand’s best electric car yet.
Yep, forget the e-tron GT, the Q4 Sportback e-tron crossover coupe thing and the hulking great SQ8 e-tron SUV, because what the world really needs is a supremely clever, lightweight and aerodynamic compact MPV that has been filled with a few batteries and an electric motor.
Heck, look how cool this one-off A2 e-tron is. It belongs in a 1990s sci-fi movie. We want one.
Sadly, we don’t have any powertrain details on the A2 e-tron, but Audi is at pains to point out that it is “a concept vehicle that is not available as a production model”. Boo.
Still, at least we know that these apprentices have strong careers ahead of them. Let’s just hope they decide to bring back the A2 when they eventually make it to positions of power within the company.
