Just a dummy in a Tesla Roadster about to go into space
Tesla boss Elon Musk teases ‘Starman in Red Roadster’ ahead of Falcon launch
Nothing to see here, other than a dummy in a space suit sitting comfortably in a Tesla Roadster. Which is about to go into space.
Yes folks, true to his word, this looks like Elon Musk’s personal Tesla Roadster (the original Roadster, not the new one) being used as a payload for his Falcon Heavy rocket. The rocket is set to be launched tomorrow (6 February) from Florida.
A waste of a Tesla Roadster? Don’t worry, there’s a new one coming... soon. And when it arrives, it’ll be one of the very fastest things on planet earth.
Musk reckons on a 0-60mph time of 1.9secs, 0-100mph in 4.2secs, a quarter mile done and dusted in 8.8secs, and a top speed of over 250mph.
Still, a shame to see this one being blasted off into space...
Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming Tesla Roadster
