You can now watch dogs do silly things in your Polestar 2 after OTA YouTube update
Update ‘P2.9’ also gets better range assistant app. But really: silly dog videos galore
Polestar has announced an incredibly serious and important update. A new remote software upgrade for the Polestar 2 means owners can now watch YouTube in their cars via an integrated app.
Which of course can only mean one thing: silly dog videos galore!
Heck, even Polestar’s Big Boss knows how important dog videos are to its customers. “We know how much our customers look forward to over-the-air upgrades and I am convinced this one will be well received, with notable new features and enhancements,” Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO said. He may have been talking about the OTA update in general, but we're running with Silly Dog Vids.
Said new features and enhancements include the addition of the YouTube app (which of course you can only access while parked), plus an update to Polestar’s Range Assistant feature. The latter is said to get a revised algorithm for more accurate range prediction, and the ability to let drivers monitor their energy consumption over the previous 20, 40 or 100 miles.
There’s also additional functionality for Apple CarPlay, with more phone and media info on the home screen, call handling via the steering wheel buttons, and Apple Maps available on the car’s driver display.
“YouTube is great for entertainment while charging, and our updated Range Assistant app delivers more accurate predictions and supports an improved driving style,” Ingenlath added. A driving style that now means you’ll be parked up for long stretches watching dogs get up to all manner of hilarious antics.
