Peugeot may have just revealed the e-208 of the future
The 'Polygon' concept hints at a future vision for the French carmaker’s supermini
We’ve been waiting for confirmation of a new Peugeot e-208 for a while – the current generation has been with us since 2019 – and the French carmaker may have just given us a glimpse of what it’ll look like with this, the Polygon concept.
Interesting looking thing, right? According to Peugeot, it gets a “feline futuristic design” and “demonstrates its vision for the future”. If this is the new 208, it represents a radical change from the existing supermini.
We’ve just the one image to go with so far, with the full unveiling on 12 November, but we are told (and can just about make out) it’ll get Peugeot’s Hypersquare wheel with steer-by-wire technology as previewed on 2023’s Inception concept.
Indeed, it shares several design cues with that car, which Peugeot’s global marketing chief Phil York told us will inspire the new e-3008. Stands to reason, then, that the rest of the range will follow suit, including the new e-208.
While we can only guess at the rest of the interior for now – red upholstery aside – we suspect that it’ll likely feature an evolution of the marmite ‘i-cockpit’ layout. Peugeot insists it’s staying, which will likely put off as many people as it attracts.
More as we have it.
