First modified new Beetle is a GT3 RS

  • Here is the first modified version of Volkswagen's new Beetle by VW Vortex. It has been decked out in Porsche 911 GT3 RS colours. Those of you with an acute sense of history might see this as an expensive, visual statement on a Porsche 911's real identity. Jeremy, after all, did.

  • This one only wears a posh suit for now, not being road legal and all. It sits on 20in custom finished orange GT3 RS-type alloys (nine inches wide, no less), H&R stainless steel adjustable coilover springs, a custom-fitted Borla exhaust, Forge carbon fibre intake system, Brembo brakes and, of course, the GT3 RS-style ‘Beetle RS' graphic.

  • Vortex says this is just Stage I, with upcoming modifications including a GT3 RS rear wing, turbo upgrade and even a locking torque biasing differential. Whether Vortex has budgeted the inevitable therapy lessons this rather confused Beetle/911 hybrid will require is uncertain.
