Finally, you can drive a Lamborghini Temerario for free* (*in a videogame, obviously)

A V8 twin-turbo engine with three electric motors, working in tandem to produce 920 metric horsepower. Thank goodness Lamborghini’s offering the brown interior trim option for the Temerario.

It’s the replacement for the veteran Huracán, but can it really provide a more comfortable drive? And can it provide any consolation for swapping out that constellation-rattling naturally aspirated V10 for a hybrid V8 twin-turbo arrangement? Until the stars align and you find yourself strapped into one on a track, there’s always the virtual equivalent in free-to-play game Asphalt Legends Unite, where the Temerario makes its digital debut.

Developer Gameloft’s marking its arrival with an esport competition, and you’ll kick yourself if you didn’t guess that the name is the Lamborghini Temerario Esports Challenge.

“The Lamborghini Temerario will take centre stage,” says the official announcement, “as racers around the world and across various platforms are the first to get behind its digital wheel. The winner will become the one true champion in the game’s latest Lamborghini challenge.”

To earn that accolade you’ll need to prevail in one of the two open qualifiers, running from 26 September- 2 October, and then 3-9 October.

Only the four fastest racers who’ve tamed the Temerario will progress to the finals event, held at Jerez in Spain in November. And if you don’t happen to be in that winning quarter, you’ll still get an exclusive Bridgestone decal for your in-game Temerario, just for taking part.
