Oh no, Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed *again*: now coming 19 November 2026
Turns out, making a huge, sprawling videogame epic takes a fair bit of time. Who knew
Your plans to run amok through a parodical southern US state and get yourself caught up in a Bonnie and Clyde romance are just going to have to wait a few months, we’re afraid – GTA 6 has been delayed again, developer Rockstar announced.
In a statement published on the company’s socials, the studio apologised for “adding additional time to what we realise has been a long wait”, thanking fans for their patience and support.
“While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City.”
The series last used that aforementioned Miami-like locale in 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, a love letter to shoulder pads and combed-back hair.
This upcoming release promises to be quite a substantial evolution, not just over the classic Tommy Vercetti tale of 23 years ago, but over 2013’s GTA V, too. A massive open world that evolves over time and responds to your actions takes top billing in the feature list revealed so far, but we’re most excited about Rockstar’s knack for parodying modern life – numerous examples of which can be found in the most recent trailer.
Originally penned for a release this year, it was pushed back to May 2026 via an official statement earlier in the year, prior to this latest delay.
On the plus side, our May 2026 is suddenly looking a lot more productive.
