KTM announces faster X-Bow
If you enjoy the thrill of open-air motoring and are keen on sharing your internal organs with hospitalised patients, step this way: KTM is building a faster version of the X-Bow.
The Austrian motorbike makers have announced plans to boost the current X-Bow's power, thus creating the X-Bow 'R'. Aficionados among you will know the 'standard' X-Bow, pictured above, comes with an Audi-sourced 2.0-litre TFSI engine with 240bhp; the uprated model gets the 2.0-litre TFSI from the Audi S3 and in its final state of tune will produce 300bhp.
You get the option of a 'Sport' pack (road legal), or 'Race' pack (track-spec) X-Bow R, while owners of the older version will have the option of retro-fitting the new spangly bits onto whatever they've got left of their original 'Bow. That's even if they're still alive/have limbs...
This is largely because the original X-Bow weighs 790kg, sprints to 62mph in 3.9 seconds and is as effective protecting your face/body from the elements as Katie Price's Saturday night club wear is.
Still, looking at it, you would, wouldn't you?
